After years of saying I would not ever own a dog... I have kids, isn’t that like a virtual dog, I have been broken... by years and years of wearing down. My daughter tried... to no avail, next up my son... he too had little to know effect. Then our third child, only three, told me last week that, “parents who don’t buy dogs... are bad mommies and daddies!” then even my wife said it may be time to teach the children what it is like to care for a living thing bigger than a gold fish. I said, “fine but when they forget to feed it and said dog dies... I’m not going to be the one who has to flush it down the toilet...” Of course I’m only kidding. I was raised on a farm as was my wife. Growing up we had horses and dogs and cats and sheep and pigs and chickens... and that was just in the house... I think it is time for my kids to learn the responsibility and reward of owning a dog... ha! Who am I kidding; I’ll be the one out at 3 in the morning teaching this puppy how to squat. At any rate Dawns Dawgs in Estevan, were fantastic to deal with. They helped us find the right dog for our family and were full of lots of info. Harvey and Dawn Tedford 306-634-8536, look them up if you are looking for a nice little family dog.

Emma as a young puppy
Hi Dawn
Just a quick update on how Emma (parents... Honey/Prince Arthur) is doing. Emma is now 18 months old and full of fun and energy. She has settled very well into her life here in Kelowna with Sam our 7yr old West Highland Terrier. She is a loving and happy dog and we couldn't be more pleased with her. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful addition to our family, I would recommend you to anyone looking to purchase a small dog. I have attached a picture (taken yesterday!) of her for you to see.
best wishes

Hi Dawn I just thought I'd write you and update you on Jake (Bryce). We look at your website all the time. We are still in Estevan and just bought a bigger house for Jake to run around in. He is a very sweet and loveable dog. Today was his first real haircut so i wanted to send you a picture. Its hard to believe he has been a member of our family since March. It was a strange occurance that I was in the pet store that day after we decided to buy a dog from the humane society. I fell in love with him immediately. My husband and i did a little research on Maltipoo's and looked at your website, then went back that same day and brought him to his forever home. Some how i just knew he was the right dog for us! He now has a friend Paxton (Dale & Launa Coyne) that lives down the street. If you would like updates or your ever in the neighborhood and would like to come see Jake you are very welcome. If you wanted to put any of my info on your website you are more than welcome to! Thank for giving us such a wonderful dog!

In December we bought a Morkie from you her name was Ursula. Our family has named her Bella and now she is a great part of the family. We love her so much and she is such a playful puppy! She is healthy and now weighs in at 5 pounds, so she's a little ball of energy! Bella loves people and other dogs, she is always wanting to say hello, but we have been training her not to bark and jump up. She is a great dog! thank you so much for giving her to us, she is a great part in our lives.
And here's a picture of Bella Ursula Margaret with our youngest daughter! She's soooo been our therapy dog and much loved!

August 2009
Hi Dawn,
Sorry we haven't sent you an update on Jasper sooner but this has been a very hectic summer for us. One joy though has been the love and affection that this (not so little anymore) guy has provided. He is growing like a weed and is already a little over 6lbs. He very quickly adapted to his new surroundings, and has become a very important part of our family. He and Rebecca are inseparable. I hope he does not get too lonely when school opens in September.I have attached a few pictures for you and will most certainly send more in the future. Once again a big thank you from all of us for providing us with such a beautiful puppy.

Hello! Sorry it took so long for me to e-mail. I've been meaning to write and send pictures. We renamed Yvonne to Daisy. She is our pride and joy. We (my husband Paul, Daisy and I) just got back from holidays at the Shuswaps in BC. Daisy got to learn to swim and although not overly excited about it, thought it wasn't to bad by the end of our holiday. She is very affectionate and loving. We just can't believe how much we love her. She enjoys walking - we go at least two but usually three times a day and on holidays the three of us went for long walks together. She would prance between Paul and I as we were walking just looking back and forth between the two of us - a big smile on her face. She loves to fetch her kricket and bug (squeeky toys). She is very smart- she knows all of her toys by name. She loves to play frizbee too! She loves to catch it when it is still moving and then wrestles it to the ground and brings it back. We went and did puppy lessons when she was four months... she did very well! One or two times and she had it. She almost seemed to get bored. She loved her new friends. She has her regular puppy friends she gets to chum with on our cul-de-sac. Maggie is across the street and Colby and Jack are next door. They all love to play and run together. I have to laugh... when Daisy and Maggie see each other (Maggie is a Yorkie) they cry and pull to go and greet one another. Provided it is all clear we will let them run to meet each other. They kiss each others faces and kind of "chat" with one another and then will begin to chase and play with one another. It is such a joy to watch them interact and be so happy! Daisy is very much taking after her Maltese mother. She is now 17" long from nose to bum and 10 1/2" heigh. She weighs aproximately 8lbs. She is predominently white now and has lost most of her tan spots. I miss her puppy look, but she is a beautiful "big girl" now. I am sorry I could only locate one puppy picture. I am just begining to learn how to sort my pictures and attach them. When I locate where I down loaded her other pictures I will send them. Please know she is very very much loved! We think the absolute world of her! Please feel free to write any time and once again I am sorry for the tardiness of this note. Take care for now!

Nikkea is a Morkie out of Emily and Prince Arthur
Hi Dawn,
Thought we would give you an update on Nikkea. She is doing great. At her last visit to the vet she weighed 4.2 lbs. She is growing like a weed. She is getting real adventurous and has mastered a few tricks. Potty training is a work in progress. She is trying very hard but still has a few accidents.
Nikkea has brought so much joy to our lives and we cant imagine our life without her. You are a great breeder and we would recommend you to anyone!!!
Thank you again,
Chris and Amy

Hi Dawn,
Just thought you might like to see a picture of Miss Vicky as we call her. She is a very lovable dog and loves lots of affection and to have her belly rubbed she gives lots of affection. She likes to give kisses. She is a little tom boy, plays in the dirt and buries everything she possibly can she always looks disheveled. Vicky has a little playmate Rex-a-roni, my sisters pom poodle cross. They see each other every day and go on daily walks to together. They have a play date on Saturday and spend the day together in the back yard. As you can probably tell she is a very loved part of the family. I look in your web site often and think about getting another dog but I don't know if I could handle two of Vicky. I am so glad we found your web site and found our little puppy she is adorable. Thank you.
Yours truly,

Hi Dawn!
Just a quick update on the newest member of our family (and some pics!)
This has been a great week, and he's doing really well!
The girls have called him TRIX because he's "tricky" and "Trix are for kids!" (do you know the cereal?)
He's ALSO VERY smart!
He ACTUALLY plays FETCH, and we've taught him to "SIT" and 'COME' already!!!
It's AWESOME!
We saw the vet last week, and he is scheduled for the second set of shots on Aug 19th.
He is eating the Orijen's puppy food now too, and seems to have lots of energy and is very sweet.
Thank you again for everything and please stay in touch!
I will send you updates and photos in future!

Oliver is a Maltipoo out of Buttermilk and Ko Lin
August 4, 2009
Hi Dawn!
I know I haven't sent you an update on Huck (now Oliver) yet - but here it is!
He is doing absolutely wonderfully! He eats well, plays all the time, and is extremely affectionate to everyone who comes within eyesight. Training him to go to the bathroom outside has been very easy (only a few accidents!). He's doing so well that even after only a month, he will bark by the back door to let us know he wants to go out!
Everyone just loves him! He's so playful (fits in very well with our energetic family) and sweet. The first thing our vet said when he saw him was how well bred he was!! So, thanks!!
Liz
P.S. I have attached a few pictures of him in our backyard- he's growing like a weed - almost 5 lbs already!!
HI Dawn and Harvey,
It is a pleasure to refer your business to other people , and I do it with total faith behind your dogs and your business. You breed lovely pups. we love roxy and she is a real delight to us. she is quite laid back now, but also likes to get a little fiesty and play as well. She is a doll.
Roxy and Maggie get together all the time and wrastle about for hours on end. Maggie is a real sweetheart as well and loves to poke her nose at your face repeatedly in a fast succession of licks and kisses! it is hilarious! we will take some xmas pics and send them to you, as the picture we have up on the website, you can't really see roxy's good looks. hee hee...
thank-you for being such great breeders, you can tell you take great pride in your puppies, and moms and dad dogs as well. Have a good christmas and we will be in touch!

George is a Maltipoo out of Chantelly Joy and Emerson
December, 2008
Hi Dawn,
Things here Boston are going well..I finally got someone to take our picture for the website..
George is getting bigger and he is so sweet and so much fun to have. My entire family loves him and I always have plenty of people volunteering to take him if I need someone to watch him.
He is also a good sleeper like his Mom! He sleeps in his crate on the floor next to me and most of the time I am up before he is. He is adjusting to city life and survived the first snowstorm we had here last week.
I will keep in touch and send more pictures I hope you enjoyed the holidays.
Warmest Regards,
Lauren
Joey is a Maltipoo out of Esprit and Emerson
Hi Dawn - I thought I'd send a recent picture of Clay. We've now renamed him Joey. He's doing really well here! The vet weighed him on Monday and he's now 4.1 lbs. He had his next shot and is scheduled to go back again in 3 weeks. He's doing great with his house training. Very few accidents any more. We sure love him. He's playful (has that crazy puppy behaviour sometimes during the day - lots of energy), sleeps well, and is eating well. I'm sending along a picture of the two of us.

Chuck is a Maltipoo out of Charcoal and Ko Lin
Hi Dawn,
Just wanted to give you an update on "Vince" who we renamed Chuck. (Our mom wasn't sure about the name at first but it stuck!) He is doing wonderful! He adjusted very fast and even our cat (who hates all dogs) loves him! They chase each other around the house. He passed his "manners 1" class, we were very proud that he was the only dog who didn't bark once the whole session! He loves people, he gets more excited when other people come over then when we come home! He just had his first weekend sleepover at our friends house and was awesome there! I have attached some pictures of him from the last 5 months. He is almost 7 months old, we can't believe how fast he is growing up! Thank-you so much for an awesome puppy! We recommend you guys to everyone!

Ryley is a maltipoo out of Alexis and Ko Lin
Hi Dawn and Harvey
Today is Riley's birthday so I wanted to email you some pictures and update you on him. He has been a great dog these past 10 months and we have thoroughly enjoyed him. He is very smart and knows how to shake, do high five, sit, lay down and just recently rolled over. It is hard to believe he is a year old. His full weight turned out to be 11.5 lbs. As you can see by one of the pictures he got some new toys for his birthday. And by the pictures you can see how CUTE he is. Everyone who sees him that is what they say " how cute". I just wanted to let you know that he is going great. I hope all is well with you.
Take Care
Julie
Hi Dawn:
I just want to tell you how much I love my two little babies!!!! They did amazing on the drive home. Ace slept on my lap the whole way and Taffy on my cousins. Than when we got home Taffy tried to take on my moms dogs while Ace wanted nothing to do with them.
Everyone who meets them falls in love with them, So I can see you having some orders come spring. My parents love Taffy's personality as she thinks she is so tuff! And everyone can't stop laughing at how cute she is as she is so different looking.
Ace is the more quiet one but melts every ones heart as he loves to be held and cuddled all day and he has the cutest puppy eyes. He is my weak spot for sure. I sent Denny a video of them last night and he is so excited to meet them this weekend. I will take pictures of them when I get home and send them to you.
I love these little bundles of joy. Your place was awesome and your knowledge about each puppy and dog was great to hear. I thank you for the books and the little package you made up for them.
I hope to purchase another puppy maybe this summer most likely for my mom as she wants one more, to add to the family and has really fallen in love with these two. I think she wants one small like Taffy and like her personality of being a little trouble maker so if you have one like that do you mind letting me know.
Thanks again for letting me have a these puppies off of you I love them so much, they will be very loved in our family.
Sonya
This is a copy of the reference letter that Susan sent when I gave her name as a reference.
Hi,
Nice to hear from you. I'd be delighted to tell you about my new addition to our family. Hopefully, you've done your homework about this dog thing....I have never had a dog before so this was something that I thought through before actually making the final decision. I wanted a small -medium size dog that I could walk further than the end of the driveway. The nice thing about maltipoos is that they are non shedding (my 2 Siamese cats drop more hair than the dog).....I was given Dawn's website by a friend. I did call and speak to a few people inquiring about a dog. I must admit when I was talking to Dawn she was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable about the possibility of purchasing a puppy from her. I was hesitant about having a little puppy shipped via air but Dawn reassured me that he would be fine. She called me as soon as she dropped him off at the airport. She insisted that I call her after I picked him up to let her know that he had arrived safe and sound. When he arrived in Toronto, I was told that it would take only 20 min. to have him off the plane and be waiting for me at Cargo 1.....had to show some ID and sign some papers then was shown where to pick up the puppy. He arrived safely in a little crate with a cute doggy blanket inside (this is very handy....it is the perfect size and I use it all the time when he is taken in the car or when I need to crate him in the house......you will not need to go and buy one)......also, secured by tape, was a Rubbermaid bin on top of the crate with a bag of starter food, pages of puppy information, the vet papers for my puppy and a DVD about crate training. When I went to Dawn's website, I was able to see the puppy that appealed to me. Dawn also took more pictures for me so I could see him (a couple of weeks can make a big difference). She placed a pop can beside him so I was able to tell exactly how big or small he was. Dawn has a variety of sizes within her puppy collection and I chose a puppy that was predicted to weigh between 7 - 9 lbs. at full growth. At the last vet visit on June 14, he weighed 6 lbs. He is now 6 months old and I have an appointment next Friday with the vet to have a pre-op checkup to see if he's ready to be neutered. My puppy has also graduated from puppy school. I would highly recommend this. It was more of a training session for me rather than the puppy. He is a very happy, healthy, loving little boy who has added so much joy into our lives. Every time we look at him, we smile. He sleeps at the end of my bed and wakes me up with kisses and gentle nibbles. I would highly recommend Dawn if you are considering a puppy that has come from a kind, caring and loving environment. I hope this helps with your decision. Please keep in touch and let me know if you have chosen a puppy. Send along some pictures. I'm going to send you some pictures of my little guy. He just got back from the spa.
Regards,
Susan Holmstrom

Hi Dawn,
Princess Zeoy turned 1 on Wednesday and is doing well. She seems to have topped out at 6.5lbs. She loves to play with Henry, who is a tad smaller and Izzy who is a giant. Henry stays with us when Annie travels and Zoey has stayed there once when we were out of town. Izzy lives just a few block away, so we try to get them together a least once a week.
Zoey is the best dog we have ever had. She is smart beyond belief. She will do almost anything for a treat, knows almost a dozen tricks. Never had a problem with potty training, she is so good about letting us know. She loves people, she loves to go to the office with me and greet everyone and she is almost leash less. Her only hang up with that is wanting to run to great someone or another dog. I could go on and on about her. I have become one of those dog owners I used to laugh at.
Her coat is beautiful, long or short. She is one happy dog! I will send pictures from my other computer soon.
Thanks again! We hope to send many more referrals.
Sincerely,
Julie
Dawn and Harvey,

Hi Dawn,
I thought I would send you one of my favorite pictures of Bug. He had his first birthday last month and is just over 5 pounds now.
As you can see from the picture, his eye staining is reduced dramatically thanks to the Angels Eyes. What a great product.
Bug has been the greatest addition to our household and I can't imagine my life without him. He has the best personality and is quite the little character. He makes me laugh on a daily basis.
My mom is still smitten with Ryder and he has grown into a very nice dog as well. We have nicknamed him Pigpen as he always manages to come back in the house filthy dirty. I don't think any dog has as much fun outside playing as Ryder does.
Thanks so much for raising such great dogs.

Jolie was saying you would like to see some pictures of Ryder. Here are some fairly recent ones. He is such a comical little thing and makes me smile all of the time. He has become just as attached to me as I have to him.

Hi Dawn,
Here are some recent photos of Sadie. She has gained some weight and now tips the scales at 3lbs 7.5 oz. Anne's LuLu hasn't gained much although she eats like crazy. We are so happy with her and she brings such joy to us each day. Thank you for the care you gave to her because she is such an even tempered affectionate pup. I have told so many people about you and have given out your magnets - I'm sure you will be hearing from Kelownians. Sue

Hi Dawn....
It's Sammy D's 11 week old birthday today! We can't believe how fast this
week has gone!
He is doing exceptionally well! Sinatra and him are playing every chance
they get. We find that Sinatra at 6 months and 8 lbs heavier tends to play a
little too rough...so we are keeping their play dates under supervision.
He seems to be adjusting well. He is very cuddly and the moment the kids
are in his area he is bounding on their laps right away! His 'pad training' is
going VERY well. In the week that we've had him...he's only not gone on the pad
once.
He is eating well...since day one.
He has been visited by our groomer at the house ..... she gave him a little
trim around the eyes and paws....he was very still! lol.
All in all....we are all just so in love with this little guy....he's got a
lovely disposition .... very affectionate...and blends into our family
perfectly!
I'm enclosing a photo of Sammy D and I....thought you'd like to add it to
your website as another thrilled client!
Thanks Dawn!

Hi Dawn,
I just thought I would send you an email and update you on how Lincon (formerly Ranger) is doing.
Lincon is such a good boy, he is loved by everyone.... and I mean everyone (even my Mom who puts on the "A dog is a dog, and I am indifferent towards them". She is in love with him, and even lets him lick her toes). Everyone who meets him, can't believe how cute and well behaved he is. The other day I had to get grad photos in my nursing whites, and I took Lincon and the photographer took a grad photo of Lincon and I.
He is also one of the smartest dogs I have known. He loves walks and is great on a leash. He has now mastered Sit, Stay, Lay-Down, and Rollover. Our next tricks on the list are Bang-Bang and Shake-A-Paw.
Kennel training was a breeze, he only whined the first 1.5 nights and then slept soundly for 8 hours in his kennel at night. Two weeks ago he began sleeping with me in my bed (We both love it).

December 13, 2008
Hi Dawn,
Daisy arrived in one piece thank goodness and she is just the sweetest little thing ever. We just love her. She has slept around my neck like a little fur collar for the past two nights and my daughter gives her kisses non stop.
She is doing a great job walking on a leash. We have renamed her Nilla, our other puppy's name is Oreo so we have two cute little cookies.
Thanks Agnes.
Gus is a Maltipoo out of Buttermilk and Ko Lin
December 11, 2008
Hi Dawn,
I just want to update you on how Gus is doing. He's doing great. He is a very active puppy. All he wants to do is play fetch with his toys. He is very smart and has been house trained for a while now. You would not recognize him. His head is all white with a little tan and his body looks gray with white and tan legs. He is adorable. While visiting your site I noticed Cheleste is going to have puppies. I'm interested in buying one. Gus could use a playmate and it is easier to have two small dogs because they will always have each other. I will keep in touch. Take Care

Thank you so much for providing us with such a great loving pet. We would happily recommend you to anyone we know looking for a dog. He was obviously born into a great environment.
You were so helpful when we were picking him out and ever since we picked him up from the airport we have absolutely adored him!
